University Pines Sky Active Living Team Members Earn National Recognition at Priority Life Care’s 2026 Executive Director’s Symposium
Two team members from University Pines Sky Active Living in Pensacola recently earned national recognition for their efforts and success in 2025.
Onidia Perea, a team member at University Pines Sky Active Living in Pensacola, has been recognized as the winner of Bob Novak Associate of the Year Award at Priority Life Care’s annual Executive Director’s Symposium, which was recently held in Hutchinson, Florida.
This recognition highlights Perea’s exceptional performance and commitment to resident care throughout the past year, as well as her remarkable journey of dedication and growth. She began her career at University Pines Sky Active Living as a dishwasher and, through her effort and hard work, advanced to become a lead cook serving breakfast and lunch. Despite language barriers, Perea has embraced every challenge with professionalism, pride, and a positive attitude. Her reliability, skill, and commitment to excellence make her an inspiration to the entire team.
“This award is such an honor, and one I attribute to the work and effort of our entire team,” said Perea. “It’s our mission to provide the highest quality of care and create a vibrant, supportive environment for our residents. My hope is that this recognition inspires our team to continue raising the bar in senior living.”
“Onidia represents the heart of what hospitality and care look like in senior living,” said Sevy Petras, CEO and co-founder of Priority Life Care. “Through her work in the culinary department at University Pines, she creates moments of comfort, joy, and connection for residents every day. Food has a way of bringing people together, and Onidia does that beautifully — with warmth, pride, and genuine love for those she serves. Gracias, Onidia, por cuidar a nuestra comunidad con tanto corazón.”
In addition, Kathy Mathews at University Pines Sky Active Living earned the Life Enrichment Award for her commitment to providing residents a wide range of activities and other diverse enrichment opportunities throughout the year.
